E-Pass

To be eligible for an Employer Pass (E-Pass) transit pass, employees must use public transit to commute to/from work a minimum of 10 work days in the calendar month and verify that their commute can be covered by the agencies below. Employees must download the LA TAP application on their mobile device and create an account to use the E-Pass.

TAP Load and Metro Reduced Fare

If an employee’s transit commute route can be covered by a participating TAP agency not covered by the agencies in the E-Pass Program*, commuteLAX can load the employee’s TAP card with stored value or a monthly pass on their behalf. Employees who qualify for Metro Reduced Fare (senior, student or disabled) are recommended to use this route to take advantage of Metro’s reduced fare rates. To be eligible for a monthly pass, employees must use public transit to commute to/from work a minimum of 10 work days in the calendar month. 

*If the commute route includes a connection to the FlyAway service and the employee does not qualify for Reduced Fare, commuteLAX recommends applying the $110 subsidy towards a FlyAway Monthly Pass, and paying out of pocket for non-FlyAway trips, which commuteLAX considers the most cost-effective option.

FlyAway Monthly Pass

The FlyAway Monthly Pass is available to employees who plan to commute via FlyAway bus service from Van Nuys Airport (VNY) or Union Station to the LAX Terminals. The FlyAway Monthly Pass costs $120; with the $110 subsidy applied, employees must pay a remaining balance of $10. Employees can authorize a $10 monthly payroll deduction or pay via check or money order to the commuteLAX office. Employees must also download the FlyAway Bus app on their mobile device and create an account to use the FlyAway Monthly Pass.

Reimbursements

An employee who purchases their own stored value or monthly pass may request reimbursement from commuteLAX as long as they submit their original receipts and log their trips on the Commute Calendar by the 10th of the following month.
